Why did the chicken cross the road?

.... to get to the awesome new coop we built for her!

We spent the past couple weekends working at Seven Arrows, where our friend Meg Paska (the Brooklyn Homesteader) is building an educational homestead/farm. We're designing and building a number of structures, including the chicken coops, goat houses, and rabbit houses. They're so cool looking we almost want to live in them ourselves!

The Homestead at Seven Arrows

Our friend Meg Paska, the Brooklyn Homesteader, is going to be starting her own farm! Meg is one of the founders of Hayseed's Big City Farm Supply, the pop-up farm store in our studio. She has been incredibly helpful with design.plot, and we want to help make her project a reality too! The Homestead at Seven Arrows will be an educational homestead and small CSA farm. Located an hour away from New York City, the farm will have chickens, goats, and organic produce. Once the farm is up and running, Meg is planning to start the CSA next spring, which will offer vegetables, eggs, and honey to the community. The farm will offer educational opportunities for people to come and learn how to incorporate small-scale food production into their lives and livelihoods. The homestead will provide a place for small groups to stay, a location for weekend intensive workshops, and it will host monthly wellness retreats.

We'll be getting involved too! Domestic Construction will be helping to design and construct the chicken coop, goat housing, greenhouse, and more! We cannot wait for this project to start, but it's not possible without your help! Meg is raising money on Kickstarter to help create the farm.
