Happy Spring Everybody!

Even though we're officially 3 days into spring, it definitely doesn't feel like it yet in New York. It's still so cold! We're optimistic that it'll warm up soon though, and next week we're planning to start planting some seeds to grow in our garden. We can't wait to spend some wonderful warm nights hanging out in the lot. Stay tuned for exciting upcoming events and happenings at design.plot! Attention: food trucks and shop vendors!

As most of you know, Domestic Construction that has our own 3700 square foot outdoor garden in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We have hosted a number of successful pop-up shops and events, including a season-long farm store last summer that was very popular. We are interested in once again partnering with local vendors who want to rent a temporary location to sell their products/food. Our garden offers a beautiful space for people to come shop, eat, and hang out.

our new project!

Exciting news! We're teaming up with Withers & Grain to design a new restaurant in the Lower East Side! We can't wait to share our progress as we get started on this amazing project. Today we're busy in our studio designing a custom wallpaper exclusively for the restaurant.

Preparing for the end of the world!

With the end of the world rapidly approaching (on December 21!), we prepared by creating a replica of the Chichen Itza. We think the Mayans would be proud!

The temple was actually used as a prop for the Happy Hearts Fund "Land of Dreams: Mexico" event last week. We also created a jungle with an Olmec head, a replica of the underwater museum in Cancun, a Mexican classroom, and a replica of the Soumaya Museum. It was an incredible event, and we'll be posting more photos soon!

More buzz about our new mats!

December at Domestic Construction is really off to a great start! Daily Candy included our mats in their Girls Gift Guide for the holidays! Check it out here:

Our mats are popping up everywhere!

We're a fan of Lena Dunham's show "Girls," and apparently Lena is a fan of our mats! A while back we saw on her Instagram that she owned our "Burst" mat, and we recently found out she owns "Day Tripper" as well! Awesome!

Do you own one of our mats? Send us a picture of it in your house or apartment too! We'd love to see how you use our mats to decorate your space.
